Interim Senior Investment Accountant

INTERIM SENIOR INVESTMENT ACCOUNTANT - AMSTERDAM

Altum Consulting are proudly working with our client based in Amsterdam to support their search of an interim Senior Investment Accountant to join their high-performing Accounting team during their upcoming busy period over the summer months.

Our client is a part of one of the worlds largest private equity investment firms and have in excess of $30 billion assets under management and have offices in 29 different locations worldwide. Due to their on-going success, the Investment Accounting team is growing considerably and therefore, our client is looking to hire more top talent to support their continuous growth path.

The Accounting team is a diverse department with over 25 employees consisting of 10 nationalities and with varying ages, genders and backgrounds making this a fun & sociable team to work with!

Working as a part of a high-performing accounting team will offer a range of tasks and responsibilities including;-

Role & Responsibilities;-

• Preparation and validation of transactions and bookings into the accounting system
• Ensure that all investment-related information is uploaded into the database accurately for efficient reporting, monitoring and accounting processes and perform the necessary analysis to ensure all records are uploaded correctly
• Review broad data sets and transactions relating to various transactions and investments
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports such as;- financial statements and various management and investor reports
• Work closely with other internal departments during peak deal closing periods by providing ad-hoc financial information when requested
• Review the work created by the Junior Accountants to ensure accuracy
• Support internal and external auditors during the audit processes
• Utilize various tools to make improvements to any financial or reporting processes where needed
• Support the development of the Junior Accountants within the team

Education & Experience:-

• Educated with a finance related Bachelor degree (Accounting, Finance, Controlling or equivalent)
• Formal accountancy qualification, or working towards a qualification is desirable
• 3-4 years experience working within an accounting related role ideally within a larger multi-national
• Knowledge of US GAAP, Dutch GAAP or IFRS
• Ability to use your initiative to solve problems
• Strong communication skills, hardworking attitude and comfortable working in an international environment, liaising with stakeholders at all levels
• Proficient IT skills with good knowledge of Excel and accounting software
• Fluency in English (any other European language is a benefit)
• Must have EU citizenship or valid work rights/does not require sponsorship, and currently reside in the Netherlands
