Altum Consulting is partnering with a prestigious, global investment firm to appoint a Senior Accountant to join their high-performing and internationally focused Investment Operations team located in the vibrant city of Amsterdam.

This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced, operationally minded accountant who enjoys working close to the business, ensuring accuracy of data, improving processes, and supporting deal activity in a dynamic international environment.
The Role
As Senior Accountant Investment Operations, you will play a key role in the integrity and oversight of investment accounting activities. You will work closely with investment teams and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, robust controls, and smooth execution of transaction-related processes.
This is a hands-on position requiring strong system knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review investment-related accounting entries covering transactions, valuations and other portfolio data uploaded into the accounting system
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness and integrity of data within the portfolio accounting system through ongoing monitoring, reconciliations and monthly controls
- Oversee the correct application of valuation policies within quarterly valuation processes
- Prepare and analyse monthly and annual financial reports for investors and management
- Support investment teams throughout the deal lifecycle, including deal closing and ongoing portfolio monitoring, by providing relevant financial information and analysis
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external counterparties
- Continuously review and enhance investment accounting processes, controls and documentation
- Support external auditors during financial statement and control audits
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or similar
- 3 years' experience in an accounting or financial controls role (experience within investment accounting is highly advantageous)
- Good working knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong hands-on experience with accounting systems and advanced Excel
- Experience working with large data sets and complex financial information
- An accountancy qualification is beneficial but not essential.
