Business Systems Lead

The Role

The Business Systems Lead is a permanent leadership position within Group IT, accountable for the ownership, optimisation, and evolution of core enterprise systems across business functions. Most notably Finance, HR, and Procurement.

Operating within a lean European structure, this role carries a broad remit and significant strategic responsibility. The successful candidate will act as the subject matter expert across multiple business platforms while shaping and delivering a multi-year systems transformation roadmap.

The role requires a balance of hands on systems expertise, transformation capability, governance design, and strong business partnering. This position will play a central role in preparing the organisation to scale effectively through acquisition, establishing integration standards, and improving group wide visibility and control.

Core Responsibilities

Enterprise Systems Ownership

• Own the strategy, performance, and governance of core business systems across Finance, HR, and Procurement.
• Act as subject matter expert across multiple platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Define and manage system roadmaps, risk controls, and optimisation plans.

ERP and Finance Systems Transformation

• Support and lead elements of a multi-year ERP transformation.
• Drive consolidation and standardisation across business entities.
• Partner closely with Finance leadership to enhance reporting capability, controls, and scalability.
• Assess and evolve the Dynamics Business Central environment and wider finance systems landscape.

Integration and Scalability

• Develop integration frameworks for newly acquired businesses.
• Establish onboarding standards for systems and data.
• Improve consistency of processes and reporting at group level.

Function Development

• Establish and mature the Business Systems capability within Group IT.
• Introduce structured governance, documentation standards, and vendor management controls.
• Build and scale the team over time as organisational needs evolve.
• Act as a consultative technology partner to senior stakeholders across Europe.

Experience

• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise business systems within a multi entity or international environment.
• Strong exposure to ERP platforms, ideally Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
• Experience working closely with senior Finance stakeholders and supporting finance system landscapes.
• Proven track record in systems transformation, optimisation, or post acquisition integration.
• Experience operating within lean, fast growth organisations.
