SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - Private Equity
Altum Consulting are excited to be working once again with one of our most prestigious clients to assist them in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their Investment Accounting team within their highly successful finance department.
Our client is a global leader and award-winning private equity investment firm who have been breaking world record years over recent times and continue to strive for success and surpass previous achievements. They have over 20 offices situated globally, with Amsterdam being a main HQ for their Dutch B.V.
This role is based in their Amsterdam office and our client is looking for a highly skilled and self-motivated Senior Accountant to join their internationally diverse Investment Accounting team to play an important role in all investment related activities.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Preparing and validating investment related bookings for transactions, valuations and other investment-related information that is uploaded into the portfolio accounting system and used for accounting, reporting and monitoring investments
- Coordinating, monitoring and controlling the integrity of all information in the accounting system through ongoing review, monthly checks and targeted projects including the accurate application of the valuation policies in the quarterly valuations prepared by the investment teams for direct investments
- Developing, preparing and analysing monthly and annual financial reports for investors and management
- Providing support to the investment teams located in the different offices during the deal closing process, and afterwards during the various stages of the investment process, by providing them with financial and other deal related information and analysis, both on a regular as well as an ad-hoc basis
- Providing information to other internal and external parties
- Developing and updating policies and procedures to continuously improve investment accounting and business processes throughout the organisation
- Assisting external auditors in relation to financial and control audits
Education & Experience
- Bachelor or Master degree in business economics, finance, accountancy or equivalent
- Accountancy qualification is advantageous
- 3 years of experience in a similar accounting/controls related field
- Good understanding of (US) GAAP
- Hands on experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Focus to complete combined with ability to work on several tasks and projects at the same time
- Strong attention for detail and consistency
- Ability to work in and positively contribute to a team
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Strong communicative skills
- Fluency in English is essential (any additional languages are an advantage)
